雖然學校老師很常提醒學生「although, but」、「because, so」不可以連用 

原因就是「他們都是連接詞」因此兩個句子只需要一個連接詞就好

但即便這句話背到都快爛掉了，講話的時候還是不自覺得說了 although...., but ....

就是因為受到我們的母語中文的影響！

中文喜歡講「雖然怎樣但是怎樣」「因為怎樣所以怎樣」

而英文卻是，既然有了雖然...之後就一定有但是、有了因為就一定有所以

因此擇一即可！想要改掉這種口說毛病

需要透過大量的刻意練習，不斷的在口說的時候有意識的注意

久而久之，就會習慣成自然囉 

今天來教文法，了解 雖然僅管「although, despite, notwithstanding」的用法

 「although」連接詞正確用法為：連接兩個句子

同義詞有：though, even though, while, as

Although S1 + V1, S2 + V2 或 S2 + V2 although S1 + V1

如果不想使用 although 可以換成 but

S1 + V1, but S2 + V2

例句：她一個人步行回家，儘管她知道那樣做很危險。

She walked home by herself, although she knew that it was dangerous.

Although she knew that it was dangerous, she walked home by herself.

She knew that it was dangerous, but she walked home by herself.

同義詞有：in spite of

Despite + N/Ving, S + V 或 S + V despite + N/Ving

例句：她一個人步行回家，儘管危險。

She walked home by herself despite/in spite of the danger.

Despite/In spite of the danger, she walked home by herself.

也可以加上 the fact that S + V 接上子句

She walked home by herself despite/in spite of the fact that it was dangerous.

Despite/In spite of the fact that it was dangerous, she walked home by herself.

但意思較為正式，比較特別的是可以把 N 擺在前面

Notwithstanding + N/Ving, S + V 或 S + V notwithstanding + N/Ving

或是 N notwithstanding, S + V

例句：儘管遭到一些成員反對，我還是認為我們應該實施該計劃。

Notwithstanding some members' objections, I think we must go ahead with the plan.

Some members' objections notwithstanding, I think we must go ahead with the plan.

I think we must go ahead with the plan, notwithstanding some members' objections.

I think we must go ahead with the plan, some members' objections notwithstanding.

也可以加上 the fact that S + V 接上子句

She walked home by herself notwithstanding the fact that it was dangerous.

Notwithstanding the fact that it was dangerous, she walked home by herself.

另外也有副詞的用法，意思類似 yet, nevertheless

​​​​​​​I didn't do well in my job interview. I was hired notwithstanding.
