今天來學七種使用「hard」的方式

1.表「堅硬的，堅固的」

（相反詞為 soft）

 例句：

Teeth have a hard surface layer.

牙齒有堅毅的表層

Heating the clay makes it hard. 

黏土加熱會變硬

For running on hard roads, you need shoes with extra cushioning to absorb the shock.

跑在堅硬的道路上，你需要有氣墊的鞋子去吸收震動

2. 表「困難的，費力的」

（同義詞為 difficulty, 相反詞為 easy）

 例句：

It's hard to say which of them is lying. 

很難說他們當中哪個在說謊

Her handwriting is very hard to read. 

她的字跡很難辨認

The topics get harder later in the course. 

在日後的課程中題目會更難

I feel sorry for the kids, too - they've had a hard time. 

我也覺得對不起孩子們——他們過得很辛苦

3. 表「耗費體力或腦力的；辛苦的」

 例句：

It was hard work on the farm but satisfying.

農場的工作很辛苦，但讓人有滿足感

4. 表「嚴厲的，苛刻的」

（同義詞為 tough, harsh）

 例句：

You have to be quite hard to succeed in the property business. 

要想在房地産業界中獲得成功，你必須相當強硬才行

Don't be too hard on him - he's new to the job. 

別對他太苛刻——他剛開始做這項工作

5. 表「可證實的，確鑿的」

（常與 fact, truth, evidence 一起用）

 例句：

We need hard facts to convince the customers.

6. 表「費勁地，努力地，艱難地」

 例句：

Work hard and play hard, that's my motto.

努力工作痛快玩，這是我的座右銘

I'm not surprised he failed his exam - he didn't exactly try very hard!

他沒通過考試我一點都不感到奇怪——他根本就沒用功

7. 表「雨或雪下得猛烈地，大量地」

 例句：

It had been raining hard most of the afternoon.

大半個下午都在下暴雨。
