 「泡茶/ 泡咖啡」make (a cup of) tea/coffee

「濃茶」🍵不會說 heavy tea 而是 strong tea

兩者差別在於 appointment 是與人預約，像是牙醫、心理醫師

reservation 則是餐廳、服務、座位、飯店、機票等預約

 「嘗試」make an attempt / make an effort

例句：She made a few half-hearted attempts to join in their conversation.

他們談話時，她半心半意地插了幾句話。

He made no attempt to be sociable.

他不合群，也不試圖去改變這一點。

If we could all make an effort to keep this office tidier it would help.

如果我們都努力保持整潔，那麽辦公室的面貌肯定會大有改觀。

 「做決定」make a decision/ choice/ call

例句：It was a tough call, but eventually I decided to give up my job.

儘管做這個決定很難，但我最終還是決定辭職。

More investment? That's got to be your call - you're the one that's paying!

增加投資？這該由你來決定——畢竟你是付款人。

 「打電話」make a (phone) call

例句：I've just got a couple of calls to make.

我正要打幾個電話。

 「做出改變/ 不同」make a change/ make a difference

例句：What you wear can make a huge difference towards the amount of comfort you feel on the flight.

你的穿著可以對你在機上感受到的舒適度有很大影響。

 「賺錢/ 賺大錢/ 獲利」make money/ make a fortune/ make a profit

例句：You can make a fortune out of junk if you call it antiques.

把破爛叫做「古董」，就可以從中發一筆財。

She makes a big profit from selling waste material to textile companies.

她將廢棄材料賣給紡織公司，從中賺取大筆利潤。

 「發出聲音/ 製造噪音」make a sound/ make a noise

例句：She stood completely still, not making a sound.

她靜靜地站在那裡，一聲不吭。

 「要求/ 申請/ 詢問/ 建議」make a demand/ make a request/ make an inquiry/ make a suggestion

例句：His new job makes a lot of demands on him (= he has to work very hard).

新工作對他要求很高。

She has made a request for a new car.

她申請要一輛新汽車。

I've been making inquiries about/into the cost of a round-the-world ticket.

我一直在打聽環遊世界的票價。

Can I make a suggestion?

我能否提個建議？

 「犯錯/ 搞亂/ 鬧事」make a mistake/ make an error/ make a mess/ make trouble

例句：I'm not blaming you - we all make mistakes.

我不是在責備你——我們都會犯錯。

He makes a terrible mess when he's cooking.

他做飯時總是把周圍弄得亂七八糟。

There's a drunk at the door making trouble.

有個醉漢在門口鬧事。

 「做計畫/ 約定, 保證」make a plan/ make a promise

例句：I'm not blaming you - we all make mistakes.

我不是在責備你——我們都會犯錯。

He makes a terrible mess when he's cooking.

他做飯時總是把周圍弄得亂七八糟。

I'll try to get back in time, but I'm not making any promises.

我會儘量及時回來，但我不能保證。

 「抱怨/ 評論/ 談論/ 發言」make a complaint/ make a comment/ make a remark/ make a speech

例句：I've made a complaint (= formally complained) to the police about the noise.

我向警方投訴了噪音問題。

The children made rude remarks about the old man.

孩子們粗言惡語地談論那個老人。

She made a short speech.

她作了簡短的發言。

 「交朋友」make friends

例句：I've made a lot of friends in this job.

我從事這份工作結交了很多朋友。

 「大驚小怪」make a fuss about sth

例句：I don't see what the fuss is about - he seems like a fairly ordinary-looking guy to me.

我看不出來爲甚麽那麽激動——在我看來他不過是一個長相普通的傢夥。

 「找藉口」make an excuse

例句：You're always making excuses for not helping me.

你總是找各種藉口不來幫我。

 「離開」make a move [UK] 正式

例句：It's late - I think it's time we made a move.

很晚了——我想我們該走了。

 「（尤指為購買房產）出價，報價」make an offer

例句：I've made an offer on a house in Pine Banks.

我已出價購買松林園的一所房子。

 「騰出時間/ 空間」make time/ room for ...

例句：It's important to make time to read to your children.

騰出一點時間唸書給你的孩子聽很重要。

In a relationship, you have to make time for each other.

戀愛中的男女必須為彼此擠出點時間。

 「堅持；重視，特別注意」make a point of doing sth

例句：She makes a point of keeping all her shopping receipts.

她總是把所有的購物發票都保留下來。

 「整理床鋪」make a bed

例句：She hurried upstairs and quickly made the beds.

她匆忙上樓，飛快地整理了床鋪。

 「進展」make progress

例句：We're making good progress.

我們進展順利。
