前幾天看到一位自己很欣賞的英文教育者直播聊到

如果想要看影集提升英文能力的話，絕對不是放在那邊看中文字幕就會進步的

需要大量的 repetition（反覆練習）、有意識的記下以及練習新的單字以及用法

因此分享給大家平常看影集做的英文筆記！ （我真的是無時無刻都在想英文 ）

通常如果看到喜歡的影集一次看3~4次都不是問題（Gossip Girl就看超多次 ）

這次的 摩登家庭 Modern Family 則是家庭喜劇，一集短短 20分鐘，輕鬆又有趣！

Modern Family 摩登家庭 S01E01 英文筆記

1. 我們已經在一起多久了 (phr.) ：We've been together for ... + 一段時間

We've been together for around 2 and a half years.

2. 代理孕母 (n.) ：surrogate

She has agreed to act as a surrogate mother for her sister.

3. 美國白人男性同性戀 (n.) ：cream puff

（帶有歧視意味）

Don't hit on that white guy. He's a cream puff and will ignore you since he only likes other guys.

4. 領養; 收養 (v.) ：adopt

（也有採用; 接納的意思）

They have no children of their own, but they're hoping to adopt.

I think it's time to adopt a different strategy in my dealings with him.

5. 招待～來自己家 (v.) ：have sb over

if you have someone over, they come to your house for a meal or drink because you have invited them 

6. 樓梯的欄杆 (n.) ：banister

My little brother's head is stuck in the banister again.

7. 開心地參與～; 融入氣氛 (phr.) ：enter/get into the spirit of something

Everyone entered into the spirit of things by wearing costumes.

8. 不開心的人 (n.) ：gloomy goose

Gloria, why are you being such a gloomy goose?

9. 使～收斂一些; 挫挫～的銳氣 (phr.) ：take it down a notch

He's so arrogant that I wish someone would take him down a notch

10. 前往 (phr.) ：beV bound for

（相同用法也有 leave for）

She was on a plane bound for Moscow when she got sick.
