今天來教大家快速破解多益必考假設語氣的考題 
常常看到 If 的句子，後面到底怎麼接呢？

先來看看「與現在事實相反的」假設語氣長怎樣
If S + were/Ved, S + would/could/might + VR
「與現在事實相反的」假設語氣一定會看到兩個句子，由 if 這個連接詞做連接
在描述現在不太可能會發生的事情
像是：如果我是你、如果我是一種動物、如果我有100億、如果我跟川普是朋友...等等不太可能發生的事
就會寫成 If I were you, I might break up with her.
If I had 10 billion dollars, I could buy an island.
If I were a friend with Trump, I would ask him a lot of insider information.
解題關鍵在於
1. 注意兩句話的時態：
如果if 句子接上 過去式動詞或是were，後面直接選 would/could/might + 原型動詞（反之亦然）
2. 從句意解：
如果這句話看起來是不太可能發生，就會使用「假設語氣」
直接來看例子！
If there _____ better communication, the couple would not divorce.
(A) was (B) is (C) will be (D) were
明顯的後面是用 would + 原型動詞，因此前面為 were（假設語氣的beV 一律使用 were）
連意思都不用看，是不是很快速！
再一題！
If the earth ______ warmer each year, so called greenhouse effect, the earth would become a dead planet like Venus.
(A) will get (C) would get (C) gets (D) were to get
明顯的後面是用 would + 原型動詞，因此前面一樣為 were
再來！
If a relaxed baby _______by loving, attentive parents, he might grow up to be an intelligent risk taker – an artist, or a scientist.
(A) is raised (B) was raised (C) were raised (D) has been raised
是不是也不用想了，直接選 were！
簡單吧！！！這樣與現在事實相反的假設語氣就沒問題囉！
當然，這種句型還是有變化的
把 if 去掉倒裝的寫法，變成
Were S ..., S + would/could/might + VR
不過關鍵字 （were/ 誤酷麥+原型 一樣沒變）
題目可能長這樣
Were the ice of Greenland and Antarctic to melt, the sea level _______ at least 100 feet.
(A) would have risen (B) would rise (C) will have risen (D) had risen
一樣看到關鍵字 were，直接選 would + VR 囉！

答案：If you were more experienced, you might have an easier time finding a job.
6. If I _______ working now, I would have money to pay the rent.
(A) am (B) have been (C) was (D) were
答案：If I were working now, I would have money to pay the rent.
7. If it _______ raining now, we could go shopping.
(A) weren't (B) wasn't (C) isn't (D) will not
答案：If it weren't raining now, we could go shopping.
8. If I could be a dragon for a day, I ________ my fire to barbeque.
(A) would probably use (B) would have probably used (C) used (D) will probably use
答案：If I could be a dragon for a day, I would probably use my fire to barbeque.
9. If I ______ make that happen, it would be great!
(A) can (B) am able to (C) were capable of (D) could
答案：If I could make that happen, it would be great!
