Billions 金融之戰 S01E02 英文筆記

1. 推銷 (v.) ：pitch

（常用的 pitch sth to sb 向誰推銷 ... / pitch for sth 為了...推銷）

She pitched her idea to me over a business lunch.

她在一次吃商業午餐時竭力遊說我接受她的想法。

They are pitching for business at the moment.

他們正在招攬生意。

這個字還有「音調」的意思，像是電影「歌喉讚」英文就是 pitch-perfect

pefect pitch 指完美音感

The piano and organ were tuned to the same pitch (= note).

鋼琴和風琴被調校到同一音調上。 

2. 說服..., 或者 搞定他 (phr.) ：go get sb

Go get her!

3. 保持低調, 不張揚, 不正式輕鬆平常 (phr.) ：keep low-key

（低調也可用 keep low profile；高調則是 high profile）

A: Where do you want to get for dinner today?

B: umm, I don't want it fancy. Let's keep it low-key.

4. （電話用語）轉接 (phr.) ：put sb through

Could you put me through to customer services, please?

請為我轉接客服部的電話好嗎？

5. 卑劣的人 (n.) ：lowlife

There are plenty of lowlifes out there, ready to take advantage of unsuspecting senior citizens.

到處都有許多卑劣的人，隨時打算占沒防備的老人的便宜。

 6. 來吧！（可以開使問問題了）, 儘管問吧 (phr.) ：fire away
