英文的名詞有一個特別的特性就是分為「可數」及「不可數」名詞。

如果想要描述一個名詞「很多」或「很少」的時候所搭配的量詞也會隨之不同

1. 只接「可數名詞」的量詞

很多  many, a (large/ great) number of

一些  several, a couple of

很少  a few, few, fewer （其中 few 有否定意味）

 例句：

How many people are there in the department store?

There are a large number of bees in the garden.

I have a couple of close friends.

I need to get a few things in town.

Few things in this world give me more pleasure than a long bath.

1. 只接「不可數名詞」的量詞

很多  much, a (large/ great) amount of, a (good/ great) deal of

一些  a bit of

很少  a little, little, less （其中 little 有否定意味）

 例句：

I don't have much money left.

A dangerous amount of radioactivity was released into the environment last month.

They still need a great deal of money to finish the project.

There seems little hope of a ceasefire.

We must try to spend less time on our smartphone.

I received a large amount of feedback from my students.

1. 「可數」「不可數」都可以接的量詞

很多  a lot of, lots of, plenty of

一些  some, any

沒有  no, none, not any

 例句：

Eat healthily and take plenty of exercise.

There are plenty more fish in the sea.
